New to this year's web summit is the podcast feature. Attendees can download and listen to recorded interviews with faculty regarding their presentation subject matter. The Podcasts are audio files that can be downloaded from a menu page, or can optionally be delivered through RSS (Really Simple Syndication) A syndication format that was developed by Netscape in 1999 and became very popular for aggregating updates to blogs and the news sites. RSS has also stood for "Rich Site Summary" and "RDF Site Summary. and podcast software. The audio files can be downloaded and listened to with PDAs, iPods, mp3 players, or through desktop or laptop computers.
