MCK's Latest Product Takes Home CTI(TM) EXPO's "Best of Show" Award

MCK Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCKC), a leading provider of remote access products that enable corporations to extend their voice systems and applications to branch offices and telecommuters over voice and data networks, today announced that its EXTender 4000 has been awarded a CTI EXPO (soon to be known as COMMUNICATIONS SOLUTIONS EXPO) Fall 1999 "Best of Show" award.

"Our editors selected MCK Communications for their innovation and vision, as well as the outstanding impression they made on our exhibit floor," said Rich Tehrani, president and group publisher of Technology Marketing Corporation and co-chairman of COMMUNICATIONS SOLUTIONS EXPO. "MCK's IP EXTender has made COMMUNICATIONS SOLUTIONS EXPO the leading forum for the datacom/telecom industry. The continued success and growth of the IP EXTender will make our next show an even bigger success."

Ideally suited to teleworkers and remote call center agents, the MCK EXTender 4000 is a compact plug-and-play device that attaches to the remote worker's digital business telephone and desktop PC. It can be plugged directly into a 10BaseT Ethernet port on a LAN or an IP network device, such as a router, DSL modem or cable modem, for remote access applications.

"Network and telecom managers face an accelerated move toward a converged voice and data network," said Woody Benson, president and CEO of MCK Communications. "It's imperative to offer cost-effective deployment options that also maintain investments made in the existing PBX infrastructure. Our goal has always been to work closely with corporations, managed network providers and next-generation service providers to deliver voice applications that will run over converged networks. It's gratifying to see that customer acceptance of our IP product line is being reaffirmed by leading organizations such as TMC."

To sum up the process for the CTI EXPO Fall '99 Best of Show Awards, editors from Communications Solutions(TM) (formerly CTI), Internet Telephony(R), and C@ll Center CRM Solutions(TM) magazines met with vendors and tried out new products, noting the very best of CTI EXPO'99. Judging was based on overall contributions to the CTI, call center, and Internet telephony industries, with an emphasis on technologic innovation and product feature sets. Forward-looking products that will aid in the development of the next generation of communication solutions were also awarded. A full list of the winners will appear in the February issues of Communications Solutions(TM), Internet Telephony(R), and C@ll Center CRM Solutions(TM).
