 MCI WINS 'MARKETING COMPANY OF THE YEAR' FROM THE UNIVERSITY
 OF VIRGINIA DARDEN GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
 ARLINGTON, Va., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- MCI Communications Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: MCIC) has won the "Marketing Company of the Year" award for its Frien&? Family program from the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.
 Presented annually by the Darden School's Marketing Club, the "Marketing Company of the Year" award is given to an organization that has achieved outstanding success in a recent marketing campaign.
 "The timing of this award comes at approximately the one year anniversary of Friends and Family -- MCI's most successful residential savings plan to date," said Timothy Price, senior vice president, MCI Consumer and Commercial Markets.  The Darden School's Marketing Club will present MCI with the award during its annual banquet today.
