 MCI LOWERS IN-STATE RATES IN MICHIGAN
 WASHINGTON, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- MCI (NASDAQ-NMS: MCIC)


reduced its intrastate rates for both direct dial and MCI Card calls, offering Michigan residents greater savings vs. AT&T on all intrastate calls.
 Effective immediately, average rates for all direct dial intrastate calls have been reduced by more than 8 percent and MCI Card calls have been reduced by 7 percent.
 With this reduction, a 10-minute direct dial call during the evening from Detroit to Grand Rapids now costs $1.65, down from $1.91. A 10-minute direct dial call during the night/weekend time period from Kalamazoo to Flint now costs $1.26, down from $1.37.
