CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, Oct.7 /PRNewswire/ -- MCI Communications

Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: MCIC) announced today that it was adding some 250 computer programming jobs to its Cedar Rapids operation.
"We are consolidating the software development efforts of our commercial billing operation," explained James E. Hoffman, MCI's senior vice president of systems engineering. "The commercial billing development group, currently based in Northern Virginia, will be relocating to Cedar Rapids to join the billing application development group.
"Employees will have the opportunity to begin relocating here early next year, with the majority moving by mid-year," said Hoffman. "We expect that this new organization will give us increased efficiencies in the development of new and enhanced MCI products and services."
