 MCI, MAYTAG CORPORATION SIGN THREE-YEAR, $6 MILLION PACT
 NEWTON, Iowa, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- MCI Telecommunications


Corporation (NASDAQ: MCIC) today announced a three-year, $6 million agreement with Maytag Corporation (NYSE: MYG), extending a relationship that has existed since 1989.
 MCI, which handles about 95 percent of Maytag's long distance telecommunications service needs, will provide its virtual private network service, MCI Vnet, MCI 800 Service; data services and private lines. The agreement covers more than 300 Maytag locations nationwide.
 "MCI welcomes this opportunity to expand upon our three-year relationship with Maytag," said Gregory A. LeVert, president of MCI's Central Division. "We look forward to continuing our efforts to put Maytag at the leading edge of communications technology."
 Maytag Corporation has 22 manufacturing operations in seven countries with primary emphasis in-home appliances and floor care and vending equipment.
 MCI Communications Corporation, with 1991 revenue of approximately $8.43 billion, serves its customers with a variety of domestic and international telecommunications services, including long distance telephone, telex and time sensitive message delivery. MCI's residential and business customers are now provided with an array of voice and data services made possible through a digital telecommunications network that spans the globe.
 MCI's Chicago-based Central Division serves business customers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
