 MCDONNELL DOUGLAS ANNOUNCES THAT PRESIDENT OF
 ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS CO. WILL BE LEAVING
 ST. LOUIS, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonnell Douglas announced today that Edward C. "Pete" Aldridge Jr., president of McDonnell Douglas Electronic Systems Co. in McLean, Va., will be leaving the company in March 1992 to accept a position with The Aerospace Corporation.
 Aldridge, 53, has been named president and chief executive officer for The Aerospace Corp. This corporation is a federally funded research and development center that provides engineering and technical support for U.S. military launch and space systems.
 "In the three years Pete has been with us, he has led the Electronic Systems Company through its formative stage into a viable position in the highly competitive electronic's arena," said John F. McDonnell, the corporation's chairman and chief executive officer. "Pete's leadership, vision and broad expertise will serve him well in his future endeavors."
 Aldridge was named president of McDonnell Douglas Electronic Systems Co. in 1988. Prior to that he was the secretary of the U.S. Air Force. Since March of this year, Aldridge also has served as special assistant on the C-17 focusing the full resources of the corporation to ensure the program's success.
 A successor to Aldridge will be named at a later date.
 McDonnell Douglas Electronic Systems Co. is a component of McDonnell Douglas Corp. (NYSE: MD). It specializes in the design and integration of command and information systems; laser systems; visual simulation systems; surveillance and detection systems; and avionics and ground support electronics. The company is headquartered in McLean.
