MCDONALD'S TV COMMERCIAL WINS USA TODAY'S FIFTH ANNUAL SUPER BOWL AD METER CONTEST

WASHINGTON, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonald's television commercial, which featured Michael Jordan and Larry Bird competing in an impossible game of horse, won USA Today's fifth annual Super Bowl Ad Meter Contest.
The McDonald's ad won first place with an 9.0 out of 10.0 rating, the highest score achieved in Ad Meter history.
Lee Jeans took both second and third place. The Lee Jeans spot featuring a woman falling into a mannequin placed second with an 8.75 rating, while the Lee Jeans man who inhaled a parakeet ranked third at 8.63.
Budweiser's first Bud Bowl commercial, featuring Joe Namath and the Bud Light team arriving in a blimp, placed fourth with an 8.29 rating.
To create the Ad Meter, USA Today assembled 68 volunteers in Baltimore and charted their second-by-second reactions to the national Super Bowl commercials. The volunteers used hand-held meters to register how much they liked an ad as they watched it. The individual scores were combined and averaged by computer.
