MCDONALD'S ANNUAL REPORT FEATURES VIDEO ON GLOBAL GROWTH

OAK BROOK, Ill., April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonald's Corporation (NYSE: MCD) today announced that its newly-issued 1992 Annual Report to Shareholders features a 17-minute video conversation with top management, discussing how McDonald's is seizing the global marketplace to build shareholder value.
Other elements of McDonald's Annual Report package are a 32-page printed report that includes the Letter to Shareholders, Investor Review, Year in Review and Financial Review sections, plus a transcript of the video and a fold-out poster serving as a video-viewing guide on one side and a colorful McDonald's graphic on the other side.
"We invite McDonald's shareholders to enjoy an informal conversation with Chairman and CEO, Mike Quinlan; USA President and CEO, Ed Rensi; International President and CEO, Jim Cantalupo; and me, as we discuss McDonald's strategy for global growth," said Jack Greenberg, vice chairman and CFO.
"Delivering value to our customers, in terms of both price and the experience at McDonald's, is critical to achieving 100 percent total customer satisfaction. Just as we're focused on adding value for our customers, we are committed to building value for our shareholders. In this video produced especially for investors, we discuss our strategies for providing exceptional customer satisfaction, increasing market share and improving profitability," Greenberg added.
"A focus of our investor communications efforts is to make information about the Company more accessible than ever to our shareholders. Last year we used a newspaper format, admittedly an unconventional design for an annual report, to communicate a variety of strategic business messages in a form already familiar to individual investors and members of the professional investment community," commented Sharon Vuinovich, vice president of financial communications and investor relations. "This year, we introduced a video, also an unconventional element in an annual report, to bring investors directly into a strategic conversation among our top management.
"New, lower-cost production technology enabled us to add a video dimension to the 1992 report package at a cost comparable to a conventional, glossy, printed annual report," said Vuinovich. "We're also very pleased that, as we have since 1989, we have produced our entire report with substantially recycled materials, even including the video cassette."
McDonald's is the leading foodservice retailer in the global consumer marketplace, with more than 13,000 restaurants in 66 countries. About 80 percent of McDonald's restaurant businesses are locally owned and operated by independent entrepreneurs. McDonald's is one of 30 companies comprising the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
