This milestone addition to MCCI's high performance PC host support adds Windows Vista and XP/64 to the company's complete USB solution portfolio for complex, multi-function handsets. The result for handset manufacturers is a simple, automated installation process that covers the Windows operating system continuum from Windows 98 to Vista. This helps OEMs move quickly through Vista branding, validation, signing, and certification.

With the new release, MCCI supports the entire process of deploying USB connectivity between handset devices and Windows Vista operating system based hosts. The device driver installation/removal software are easily configured to meet OEM-specific and model-specific requirements such as branding, and is adaptable to support operator-specific functions. The MCCI host support package is a complete solution for OEMs, including evaluation packages, validation testing, Microsoft DTM certification and manufacturing support. MCCI drivers are delivered signed with Authenticode digital certificates.

"In addition to the new support for Windows Vista32 and Vista64, MCCI's drivers continue to support legacy Windows versions including 98, 98SE, ME, 2K, XP, XP64, and Server2003," said MCCI CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Terry Moore. "The new 64-bit version of MCCI's InstallRight Pro[TM] Windows installer automatically configures the end-user's PC for the installed version of Windows with no user intervention. The company has tested every allowable and viable upgrade scenario to ensure the easiest user experience and to reduce handset OEM customer support costs."

With the Vista release, all drivers shipped by MCCI will be signed by MCCI using Microsoft's Authenticode technology. Signed drivers minimize the warning messages displayed by Vista during installation and facilitate evaluation and testing by replicating the convenience of the final software. DTM testing by MCCI allows OEMs to verify that their driver complies with Microsoft requirements, even without a WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) A Microsoft facility that provides testing services for hardware and drivers for compliance with its operating systems.
