 MAZDA ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE CHANGES
 FLAT ROCK, Mich., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Mazda Motor Corp. announced


that Masahiro Uchida will resign as Mazda Motor Manufacturing (USA) Corp. (MMUC) president effective today. As senior managing director, Uchida will assume responsibility for overseas marketing and business logistics at Mazda Motor Corp. Uchida was named senior managing director in 1991.
 Mamoru Takebayashi, executive vice president of operations at MMUC and former managing director of Mazda Motor Corp., has been named to succeed him.
 Uchida has served as MMUC president since 1990. He was previously executive vice president, administration, a post he held since MMUC's establishment in 1985. He was instrumental in negotiating the company's historic agreement with the UAW that preceded the decision to locate the plant in southeast Michigan. He has been active in community affairs and holds board seats with the Economic Alliance for Michigan, the Greater Detroit Chamber of Commerce, The Detroit Economic Club, the Detroit Urban League, United Way of Southeast Michigan, and the Greater Detroit-Windsor Japan America Society.
 In his new assignment, Uchida will be responsible for all of Mazda's overseas marketing activities including four sales divisions, overseas customer service, knockdown business, overseas marketing administration and business logistics. He succeeds Keiji Asano, who has retired.
 Takebayashi was appointed executive vice president in March 1990, and has been responsible for manufacturing, operations planning, and purchasing. He is a director and former managing director of Mazda Motor Corporation. He has been a member of Mazda's board of directors since 1987. Takebayashi has been responsible for overseeing MMUC's first major model change of all three carlines produced at the plant. He is one of Mazda's most seasoned manufacturing executives. Takebayashi was previously general manager of Mazda's Hiroshima and Hofu plants in Japan, prior to his assignment at MMUC.
