Henry Mayo spokeswoman Janice Newbold said the hospital's ranking in the bottom half of the survey may be misleading because it is one of 13 trauma centers in Los Angeles County. ``Because of that, we receive a high volume of patients who have been in life-threatening accidents or sustained life-threatening injuries,'' Newbold said. ``We see a patient population that many facilities would not see.
