MAXIMUS Awarded Over $4 Million Welfare-to-Work Contracts in Delaware.Business Editors RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 19, 2001--(NYSE:MMS) The State of Delaware has awarded MAXIMUS three contracts totaling more than $4 million to provide welfare-to work services over the next two years. The Company successfully won the competitive rebid of a contract with the Delaware Department of Labor to operate the Employment Connection program in New Castle County. Valued at $3.2 million, this two-year contract runs through 2003. A second contract has also been re-awarded by Delaware Health and Social Services to operate the Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents Food Stamp program. Valued at $405,000, this contract runs through 2003. Under these contracts, MAXIMUS will continue to provide program participants with comprehensive case management and job readiness services. MAXIMUS works directly with participants to prepare them to successfully enter the workforce, to place them in gainful positions with wages and opportunities to grow, and to encourage and support the participant's ability to remain employed. MAXIMUS has also been awarded a new contract by Delaware Department of Labor. The Keep A Job contract, valued at $450,000 is another two-year contract. MAXIMUS will provide a continuation of Employment Connection services in this pilot program. MAXIMUS will work directly with program participants to encourage and support continued employment of jobseekers for one year. Retention case management will focus on moving the employed participant towards higher paying jobs with benefits and career advancement opportunities.
