MATTEL PROMOTES WILLIAM QUINLAN TO PRESIDENT OF ARCO TOYS INC. LOS ANGELES, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Mattel Inc. (NYSE: MAT) has promoted William Quinlan to president of ARCO Toys Inc., a Mattel subsidiary headquartered in Westbury, N.Y. He reports to John Amerman, Mattel's chairman and chief executive officer. Quinlan, 46, joined ARCO Toys in 1985 as chief financial officer. Prior to that, he spent seven years in various executive positions with General Mills, including vice president-international for its toy division. He also served as president of Lark Luggage, and chief operating officer of Izod/La Coste children's division. A native of Sydney, Australia, Quinlan received a bachelor's degree in Economics from Sydney University in 1965. He is married and has one child. Mattel Inc., with record 1990 revenues of $1.47 billion, is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of children's toys. With headquarters in El Segundo, Calif., Mattel has offices and facilities in more than 20 foreign countries and sells its products in more than 100 nations throughout the world.
