MATTEL PROMOTES THOMAS ROMIG TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT POST

 LOS ANGELES, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Mattel Inc. has promoted Thomas Romig to executive vice president-marketing for its Disney, Boys, Activity Toys and Games product lines.
 Romig, 44, joined Mattel in 1989 as senior vice president-marketing services and entertainment, and was named senior vice president- marketing and creative services in 1991, and senior vice president- marketing for Activity Toys in 1992. He begin his career at General Foods Corp., where he worked from 1969 to 1989, rising to the position of vice president of marketing and business development.
 A graduate of Lehigh University, Romig received a bachelor's degree in liberal arts in 1969. He reports to Jill Barad, president and chief operating officer.
