MATTEL PROMOTES LUZURIAGA, OKUN AND TROUP TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT POSTS

 LOS ANGELES, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Mattel Inc. has promoted Francesca Luzuriaga to executive vice president-marketing services, finance and administration; Fred Okun to executive vice president-sales; and Diana Troup to executive vice president-product design. All three report to Jill E. Barad, president and chief operating officer.
 Previously senior vice president and treasurer, Luzuriaga joined Mattel in 1982 as a senior planning specialist. She has held various management positions with the company over the last 11 years, including director-financial planning, vice president-finance and senior vice president and controller. Prior to joining Mattel, she spent four years at Xerox Corp.
 Luzuriaga received a bachelor's degree in Asian Studies from Pomona College in 1976, and an masters of business administration from the University of Southern California in 1978.
 A 30-year Mattel veteran, Okun most recently served as senior vice president-sales. He began his career with the company in 1963 as a district sales manager, and has held numerous sales positions over the last three decades, including regional sales manager, director-field sales, director-national accounts, vice president-national accounts, and senior vice president-sales/logistics.
 An alumnus of Roosevelt University in Chicago, Okun received a bachelor of science degree in business administration in 1962.
 Troup first joined Mattel in 1972 as a senior preliminary design artist. She left the company after one year, but rejoined it in 1975 as a preliminary designer. Since that time, she has held a number of positions at Mattel, such as research projects manager, director-product design, vice president-preliminary design and, most recently, senior vice president-product design. Previous experience includes positions with Hallmark Cards, Buzza Greetings and Gibson Greetings.
 A University of Tulsa graduate, Troup received a bachelor's degree in commercial design in 1965.
