MASTER CHORALE'S NEW SEASON TO MIX HARMONY, FUN CONCERT SCHEDULE SET TO KICK OFF DEC. 6.Byline: Daily News From the most elegant classics to down-home folk tunes, the Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country, Master Chorale chorale (kōrăl`, –räl`), any of the traditional hymns of the German Protestant Church. The form was developed after the Reformation to replace the plainsong of the earlier service and as a means of congregational participation in has delighted audiences with great music from just about every choral corner. As the chorale enters its fourth season, led by artistic director Peter G. Pocock, the singers plan to continue this tradition with three concerts rich in variety, harmony and fun. This season's holiday celebration, ``Let It Snow!'' will be presented at 8 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7 with a new Sunday afternoon performance at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 8. The festive program will feature Vivaldi's ``Gloria,'' Morten Lauridsen's ``Mid-Winter Songs,'' Robert Shaw's ``Many Moods of Christmas,'' and a selection of new carols and traditional holiday heartwarming heart·warm·ing or heart-warm·ing adj. 1. The chorale's second program of the season, ``Spring Songs: Classical Beauty and Romantic Fancy,'' will take place at 8 p.m. March 21 and 22. Timeless treasures from the classical and romantic eras, including Mozart's ``Vesperae solennes de confessore,'' Schubert's ``Mass in G'' and Brahms' ``Liebeslieder Waltzes'' will set the scene for the beginning of spring. The season finale, ``A Little Night Music,'' will be presented at 8 p.m. May 30 and 31, and will feature light classical and Broadway choral delights - the music of great composers and lyricists like Stephen Sondheim Noun 1. Tickets to each individual concert are $17 for general admission or $12 for students and seniors. Season subscriptions will be available until Nov. 22 for $45 for general admission or $30 for students and seniors. ``Last season all the concerts were sold out, and season ticket holders increased by 60 percent,'' said Deb Baur, the chorale's chief executive officer. ``We have added a new Sunday afternoon performance of our holiday concert this year, but even with that, season subscriptions are the best way to be sure of a seat.''
