MAS filthy pitch.


The Municipal Arts Society has launched a competition to find the ugliest street in New York City New York City: see New York, city.
New York City

City (pop., 2000: 8,008,278), southeastern New York, at the mouth of the Hudson River. The largest city in the U.S.

The competition is part of an effort to rid the street of " filthy, poorly maintained and decrepit de·crep·it  
adj.
Weakened, worn out, impaired, or broken down by old age, illness, or hard use. See Synonyms at weak.

Members of the public are invited to submit photographs of the most unkempt newsracks to its Outrage! contest and help persuade elected officials that newsracks must be regulated.

Photograph entries are invited from the five boroughs with crossstreet details of where the offending of·fend
