MARVIN LEARNS TO RAISE THE DEAD; Star aims to be Raith healer.
BORN-AGAIN Christian football star Marvin Andrews is to learn to "raise the dead" from a Nigerian evangelical archbishop.
Andrews will be taught by Professor Victor Onuigbo, who is said to have brought back to life 39 people through faith-healing.
Archbishop Onuigbo will use his powers at the Zion Praise Centre in Kirkcaldy, Fife, where Andrews, who has just re-signed for Raith Rovers, was ordained three weeks ago.
Onuigbo is the president of Victory Christian Missions International churches, whose headquarters are in Enugu, Nigeria.
Onuigbo, who is in his 60s, has also trained more than 20,000 pastors.
Now, with Andrews watching, the former doctor is set to use his healing powers on the people of Kirkcaldy.
Andrews, freed by Rangers in the summer, stunned the football world by returning to Stark's Park instead of taking up offers to join SPL or big English clubs.
Andrews's mentor Pastor Joe Nwokye said his protege could learn a lot from Onuigbo.
He added: "He is a very powerful man of God, who is famous throughout Africa and America for his miracles."
Pastor Joe has invited anyone with health problems to come to his church this weekend to be healed by his colleague and has confirmed Andrews will be present.
He said: "Anyone with a problem is welcome to come along.
"They do not even need to be believers, atheists are very welcome.
"Marvin will be here and I am very glad he will be around to carry on God's work now he is playing for Raith Rovers."
