MARTIN BANDIER APPOINTED CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF
                       EMI MUSIC PUBLISHING
NEW YORK, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Martin Bandier has been appointed chairman and chief executive officer of EMI Music Publishing, it was announced today.
Prior to this appointment, Bandier was both vice chairman of EMI Music Publishing and president and chief operating officer of the SBK Records Group.
EMI Music Publishing, with over 800,000 titles, is the world's number one music publisher. The purchase of SBK Entertainment World in 1989 added over 250,000 titles to the catalog. EMI's number one position was further reinforced by the December 1990 acquisition of publisher Filmtrax, which includes over 90,000 titles. Reflecting their prowess in the field, EMI has been recognized with various publishing honors, including the 1990 Music Publisher of the Year awards from BMI, ASCAP, and Billboard--an unprecedented sweep. For the first half of the 1991/1992 fiscal year, EMI Music Publishing once again turned in record profits as the publisher retained the top positions nationally in the United States, Germany, France, Australia, Holland, and Italy, and shared the top spot in the UK.
Jim Fifield, president and chief executive officer, EMI Music, to whom Bandier now reports, comments: "I am pleased Marty will be devoting 100 percent of his talents to Music Publishing. He is a true professional and team player, and has continuously delivered record profits since joining EMI Music."
Says Bandier, "I'm delighted to be able to continue the work of making EMI Music Publishing the undisputed No. 1 music publisher in the world. It will be a considerable privilege to lead EMI's team of talented and creative professionals."
This appointment follows EMI Music's acquisition of the remainder of Chrysalis Records, and the consolidation of Chrysalis, EMI and SBK into the EMI Records Group North America.
