MARTHA REEVES AND MEL FARR TO CELEBRATE MOTOWN LEGEND MARVIN GAYE

 DETROIT, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Friends, family and former backup singers Martha Reeves and Mel Farr will gather to celebrate the life and work of the late Marvin Gaye. Farr contributed to the background on the Marvin Gaye hit "What's Goin' On." Reeves and Farr will remember Gaye during a special memorial service at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church on Sunday, March 28, at 4 p.m.
 Participants in the service will include former Motown recording artist Reeves, keyboardist Teddy Harris and vocalist Lamont Dozier Jr. This spiritual service will recall the love and harmony which Gaye called for in his music.
 The memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. and is a prelude to the 4th Annual Tribute to Marvin Gaye set to take place at Masonic Temple Theatre on Saturday, April 3. The memorial service is open to the public at no charge. Hartford Memorial Baptist Church is at 18700 James Couzens in Detroit.
