Byline: - Elizabeth Rodriguez

Kurt and Ibi Regius of Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary April 6 with relatives and friends at the Matterhorn Chef Restaurant in Van Nuys.

Kurt and Ibi met in Hungary. He was 14 and she was just 10. Ibi instantly developed a crush on the blue-eyed Kurt, but nothing would happen between the two until six years later. Ibi and Kurt attended many town dances and Kurt always made sure that he had the last dance with Ibi. Eventually the two fell in love and decided to marry. Unfortunately, Kurt's parents objected to the wedding because Ibi's family was not in the same social order as Kurt's family. So Kurt and Ibi left town and married April 6, 1942, in Bistritz, Hungary.

After their first child was born, Ibi returned to her hometown home·town

Not long after that, World War II intensified and Kurt was drafted into the Hungarian Army. Ibi became pregnant with her second child. When her town came under attack, Ibi had to run away to Austria with her two children.

In despair, Ibi prayed for strength and word from her husband. Her prayers were answered soon after, and Kurt found her. For the next seven years, the Years, The
