MARRIED 60 YEARS: DALE AND HELEN VANDERMARK.Byline: - Nicole Sunkes Dale and Helen Vandermark of Lake Elizabeth celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 16 with family and friends at a dinner at Vincent Hill Restaurant in Acton. They also spent a few days in Laughlin, Nev. They met in Lincoln Park Lincoln Park, city (1990 pop. 41,832), Wayne co., SE Mich., a suburb adjacent to Detroit, on the Detroit River; inc. 1921. It is a residential community in an area marked by a significant decline in industry. in Jersey City, N.J., where Dale was stationed with an anti-aircraft battery. Helen was walking in the park, Dale asked her if she was going his way, and she has been ever since. They were married March 18, 1943, at All Saints Church in Jersey City. Helen worked various jobs until they bought a home in Mar Vista in 1947. She attended school in Jersey City. Dale attended Venice High School and left to attend Frank Wiggins Trade School to study sheet metal work. He worked in sheet metal for 29 years and retired in January 1971. They moved to Lake Elizabeth in 1988. They have two sons: John of Simi Valley and Lewis Dale, who is deceased. They have three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and four step-great- grandchildren. MARRIED 50 YEARS: MARVIN MARVIN - U Dortmund, 1984. AND JUDY HORN Marvin and Judy Horn of Simi Valley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family and friends on March 22 at Paul's Italian Villa in Simi Valley. They also took a Panama Canal and Caribbean cruise. The couple met while in high school and were married April 2, 1953, in Provo, Utah. Judy attended Verdugo Hills High School and worked as a homemaker for 20 years. She also worked as a bridal consultant for 10 years and as the manager of a jewelry store for eight years. Marvin also attended Verdugo Hills High School. He worked at Lockheed for 40 years before retiring in 1993. They have traveled extensively in the U.S. and enjoy taking cruises. They have three children: Cindy Sneep of Simi Valley, Brian Horn of Simi Valley and Richard Horn of Wildomar, Calif. They also have six grandchildren.
