More than 100 guests, including family from Texas and Michigan, attended the event, participating in square dancing, something the Gerlachs have enjoyed for over 26 years. John Reitmajor was the caller. Will graduated from East Detroit East Detroit, Mich.: see Eastpointe. High School and Betty from Busch High School in Michigan. Will and Betty met on a blind date arranged by mutual friends. They discovered they share the same birthday, April 1. Will joined the service, and they made their home in Wisconsin. Will left for Korea in 1951, and Betty returned to Michigan to live with her parents. They did not celebrate an anniversary until their third. Will and Betty moved to Glendale in 1963, after the birth of their children. Betty worked as an assistant teacher for parent education classes for over 10 years. Will retired after 30 years of working for Los Angeles County, where he was a Business Machine Supervisor. The Gerlachs raised three children - Sharrel of Glendale, Kathy of Burbank and Lori of Roseville, Calif. - and have seven grandchildren GRANDCHILDREN, domestic relations.
