MARRIED 50 YEARS: MIGUEL AND STELLA MONTENEGRO.

Miguel and Stella Montenegro of Reseda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 28 with dinner on a train ride in Washington.

Stella was born in El Paso El Paso (ĕl pă`sō), city (1990 pop. 515,342), seat of El Paso co., extreme W Tex., on the Rio Grande opposite Juárez, Mex.; inc. 1873. , Texas. Her family later moved to Fort Ord, where her father was stationed. While attending Monterey Union High School, she met Miguel in October 1950. They were married shortly thereafter, on Dec. 28, 1950.

After they were married, Stella stayed home to raise their children. She continues to do the things she loves, including bowling, dancing and the occasional trip to Las Vegas.

Miguel attended Canoga Park High School Canoga Park High School is a public school located in Canoga Park in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California, USA, within the Los Angeles Unified School District.

It is located right across the street from the Topanga Plaza shopping center.
. He joined the U.S. Army in 1948 and served in the Korean War Korean War, conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. At the end of World War II, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel into Soviet (North Korean) and U.S. (South Korean) zones of occupation. . He later went on to work for General Motors for 30 years.

On advising their kids about marriage, she tells them that it is not all peaches and cream Peaches and Cream is a dessert made of peaches and cream. It is often served at ice cream stands and float shops. Many types of hard candy, such as Creme Savers, also come in a peaches and cream flavor. .

The couple has four children: Michael Montenegro of Downey; David Montenegro of Kent, Wash.; Bee Montenegro of North Bend, Wash.; and Peggy Colson, also of North Bend, Wash. They have seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

MARRIED 50 YEARS: NORMAN AND ELOISE ELOISE European Land-Ocean Interaction Studies  TVEDTE

Norman and Eloise Tvedte of Sylmar were joined by more than 80 friends and family members to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 10 at the Oakridge Hall in Sylmar.

The two met at the First Methodist Church in Los Angeles and were married on Feb. 9, 1951, at the University Methodist Church on the USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  campus. They spent their honeymoon in San Diego.

Eloise was born in Kansas, where she attended nursing school in Wichita. She practiced nursing for eight years at St. Vincent Hospital in Los Angeles before getting married.

Norman was born in Iowa, attended Morningside College and graduated from the University of Iowa Not to be confused with Iowa State University.
The first faculty offered instruction at the University in March 1855 to students in the Old Mechanics Building, situated where Seashore Hall is now. In September 1855, the student body numbered 124, of which, 41 were women.
. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He later received a master's degree in education at USC. He was a teacher and administrator in the Burbank Unified School District A unified school district is a school district which includes both primary school (kindergarten through middle school or junior high) and high school (grades 9-12). In Illinois, these districts are called unit school districts. .

The Tvedtes continue to be active at their church and in community activities. Eloise is a big Lakers and Dodgers fan and enjoys working on jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Norman enjoys canvas painting as well as the occasional game of golf. They have traveled to Europe and almost all 50 states.

They have two children: Nancy Beach of Lancaster and Janet Kopshever of Rohnert Park, Calif. They have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
