Intervet Inc., Millsboro, Del., has announced that its CEO and president Dr. Klaus Olbers has joined the Board of Management of Intervet International while retaining his current responsibilities as head of the company's North American operations. Olbers has indicated his expanded focus would necessitate a change in the company structure. Bryan Gathagan is promoted to vice president, information and control, Chris Ragland is promoted to vice president, sales and marketing, and Dr. Jim Hungerford is promoted to director, market development.

John Stewart is named president of Delta and Pine Land International, replacing Tom Luehder, who has retired. Stewart was previously D&PL's general

manager for Europe and Africa. Rick Greene becomes D&PL's vice president of business development. Greene was D&PUs director of international taxation and finance.

Ivy Animal Health, Inc., Overland Park, Kan., promotes Richard O. Shuler to president and CEO. Shuler joined Ivy Animal Health when Ivy acquired VetLife, Inc., the company Shuler formerly headed, in 1998. Ivy promotes Dr. Kevin DeHaan to vice president of sales, marketing and technical services. DeHaan will also be responsible for directing the VetLife cattle business unit. DeHaan was formerly manager of technical services for VetLife.

The animal health division of Alpharma Inc., Fort Lee, N.J., names Karen DeQuasie director, public relations and communications. DeQuasie was previously director of public affairs for Pfizer North American Animal Health and senior vice president with Fleishman-Hillard before starting her own independent consulting business in 1997.

Robert W. Honse has taken over the leadership role of president and CEO of Farmland Industries, Inc., Kansas City, Mo. Honse most recently was Farmland's executive vice president and COO. He succeeds H.D. "Harry" Cleberg, who will serve as a consultant to Honse through Dec. 1, 2000. Farmland promotes John Berardi to executive vice president and CFO. Berardi had been executive vice president and president of Farmland's Grain and Grain Processing businesses since 1996.

Kent Feeds, Inc., Muscatine, Iowa, promotes Charles Bloechl to assistant product manager, ruminant products, from district sales manager in southern Wisconsin. Kent Feeds promotes Kent Heckman to marketing resources manager from district sales manager in north-central Iowa.

Pharmacia Corp., Peapack, N.J., hires George Gunn as president, animal health worldwide, and Julia Stephanus as vice president, companion animal group. Gunn previously was director, professional sales and marketing, for the McNeil Consumer Nutritional business of Johnson & Johnson. Stephanus was director and group leader of the companion animal health business of Pfizer, Inc.

Brian Barrett, vice president of Pfizer Inc., New York, and president of the animal health group, has announced his intention to retire at the end of February 2001. Pedro Lichtinger, currently area president of the animal health group's Europe / Africa, Middle East region, will succeed Barrett as animal health president.

CTB International Corp., Milford, Ind., promotes Don Steinhilber to vice president of business planning and development and hires Dick Freeman as vice president and CFO. Steinhilber was previously vice president and CFO with CTB. Freeman most recently w as vice president of finance with Sunrise Medical.

John McClellan is named marketing director of ProdiGene, Inc., College Station, Texas. McClellan previously was general manager of SteriGenics International.

Sally Iadarola joins ACDI/VOCA, Washington, D.C., as assistant vice president in the Europe and Eurasia division to conduct project management, donor relations and proposal development. She formerly served as private sector officer in Uzbekistan for the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Kemin Industries, Inc., Des Moines, Iowa, promotes Mark Martinez to business manager of its ruminant division. Martinez previously was a regional sales manager in Kemin's ruminant division. Prior to working at Kemin, he was an account manager with FMC Corp.'s chemical products group.

Livestock identification firm Allflex USA, Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, Texas, hires Donna James as customer service manager, Cameron Aguiar as western regional manager and Eric Dorr as regional manager. James is based at the Allflex USA headquarters in Dallas / Fort Worth Airport, Texas. Aguiar, of Clovis, Calif., will serve Allflex distributors and customers in Arizona, California and Nevada. Dorr will call on customers in Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
