Hugh McIntyre as vice president, Latin America, Troy Smith as vice president, global formulations and supply management, and Erick G. Wolf as vice president, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Merial, Iselin, N.J., retains Steve Kant to act as a communications consultant to its ruminant business. Kant has been with J. Walter Thompson, New York, the agency that formerly handled advertising for Merial's ruminant business. To maintain continuity in communications and media planning, Merial has asked Kant to consult on an exclusive full-time basis.

Thomas D. Overbay, D.V.M., has been promoted to director of professional services for Fort Dodge Animal Health, Overland Park, Kan. Overbay has been Fort Dodge's director of field veterinary services for the past seven years.

AGCO Corp., Duluth, Ga., has appointed Donald Millard senior vice president and chief financial officer. Millard replaces Patrick Shannon, who left the company in August. Millard was previously president and CEO of Matria Healthcare, Inc.

Specialty fertilizer manufacturer Tessenderlo Kerley, Phoenix, hires Mike Jennings as director of business development for Canada. Jennings previously worked with TKI plant nutrients during his tenure at Wilson Laboratories (NuGro) of Oakville, Ontario.

Chr. Hansen Biosystems, Milwaukee, names Chad Risley technical services manager. Risley most recently was a research nutritionist with the ContiGroup Co.

Landec Corp., Menlo Park, Calif., names Dennis Schlott vice president of sales for seed company subsidiary Landec Ag, Inc. Schlott previously was vice president of sales with DeKalb Genetics Corp.

IMC Global, Lake Forest, Ill., has named Douglas Pertz, president and CEO, to the additional post of chairman, effective immediately. Pertz succeeds Joseph Sullivan, who had served as interim nonexecutive chairman since Oct. 1, 1999.

Balchem Encapsulates, Slate Hill, N.Y., promotes Dr. Dana Putnam to commercial development manager of animal nutrition and health and promotes Timothy MacDonald to national sales manager of animal nutrition and health products. Putnam previously was employed by Monsanto's dairy business. MacDonald joined Balchem after being employed by Bioproducts and Monsanto.

Land O'Lakes, Arden Hills, Minn., appoints Don Berg vice president of public affairs, effective Jan. 1, 2001. Berg is currently vice president for procurement and membership in the Land O'Lakes Dairy Foods Industrial Group.

Makhteshim-Agan of North America Inc., Minneapolis, hires Rick Burt to be responsible for distribution channel sales and marketing support for MANA. Burt formerly was in market management for U.S. cereals, sugarbeet and canola markets for Aventis CropScience.

CNH Global, Racine, Wis., names Paolo Monferino as its new CEO. Monferino, executive vice president of the flat group, replaces Jean-Pierre Rosso, who has been chairman and CEO since 1984. Rosso will remain board chairman.

Keith Sandberg joins Urbana Laboratories, St. Joseph, Mo., as sales and marketing manager. He previously was national sales director for AgriBioTech.

The livestock division of Fort Dodge Animal Health, Overland Park, Kan., hires David Gaer as territory manager for eastern Washington, northern Idaho and northeastern Oregon. Gaer has two years' prior sales experience with animal health products.
