 Corp., Ludwigshafen, Germany, have signed a letter of intent to facilitate continuing negotiations regarding participation in a point-of-sale data collection system. This system utilizes the established data collection infrastructure which supports the Harvest Partners preferred customer program, in place since 1993. Monsanto will join several other manufacturers in utilizing the current Harvest Partners processes for point-of-sale collection.

AgraQuest Inc., Davis, Calif., developer of natural pest management solutions, has completed a private placement of preferred stock Stock shares that have preferential rights to dividends or to amounts distributable on liquidation, or to both, ahead of common shareholders.

Preferred stock is given preference over common stock. Holders of preferred stock receive dividends at a fixed annual rate.

Stoneville Pedigreed Seed Co., Memphis, acquires the Helena Cotton Research program from Helena Chemical Co., Memphis. Stoneville president Thomas F. "Bud" Hughes says the program gives Stoneville a pipeline of new products already in development, as well as additional cotton breeding stocks with high-quality fiber and crop maturities suited for mid-to-full-season production in the Southeast and the lower mid-South.
