Dow Chemical Co. subsidiary Mycogen Seeds Mycogen Seeds provides quality seeds with proven high-performing genetics and the latest trait technology. Mycogen is the largest sunflower seed producer, the leader in Silage-Specific™ corn and a top grain corn seed producer.  will acquire Cargill Hybrid Seeds. Dow will integrate these assets with Mycogen Seeds. The result will be a larger and more efficient platform from which to launch biotech products. The purchase will include all seed research, production and distribution assets of Cargill Hybrid Seeds in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  and Canada, except Cargill's InterMountain Canola, Goertzen Seed Research and the Western Canadian seed distribution business.

 and Dow AgroSciences announce an agreement that will greatly expand availability of the CLEARFIELD Production System herbicide-tolerance trait to the seed corn industry. The agreement grants Dow AgroSciences rights to market and sublicense the trait in corn. Dow AgroSciences already markets the trait in corn hybrids it sells through its Mycogen Seeds business unit. Now the company can produce and sublicense the technology to third-party seed companies through Advanced AgriTraits, its traits marketing subsidiary.
