MARKET BACK ON BRAND FOR PRODUCE FANS STREET WORK FORCED STALLS TO RELOCATE FROM BOULEVARD.

GLENDALE - Organizers of the Glendale Farmers Market are happy to be back to their original home on Brand Boulevard, as construction continues on the street-upgrade project that forced them to temporarily relocate re·lo·cate

The market returned Dec. 15 from its temporary home in the field at Wilson Avenue and Orange Street, where it saw less foot traffic than at its permanent location.

The block-long farmers market is held Thursdays, with vendors selling honey, dried fruits and nuts, organic and conventional produce, jewelry jewelry, personal adornments worn for ornament or utility, to show rank or wealth, or to follow superstitious custom or fashion.

The most universal forms of jewelry are the necklace, bracelet, ring, pin, and earring.

Meanwhile, the city is moving forward with its project to repave Brand, fix its sidewalks and make other improvements to the boulevard. Work was temporarily suspended this month between Colorado and Milford streets.

``We're trying to limit the work during the holiday season so we're not impacting pedestrian traffic along Brand or vehicular traffic trying to get to the retail establishments,'' said Steve Zurn, the city's director of public works public works

Work from Colorado to Milford began in April and was supposed to be done at the end of November. But because the city expanded the scope of the project, that portion of the project is expected to last until the end of April.

The project's original budget was $8 million. But there have been unanticipated costs on top of that, including $1.3 million to move a water main the city discovered was too shallow after crews started working.

Work on the second phase, from Milford to Sanchez Drive, will be finished ahead of schedule within days at a cost of $2.4 million. In other words Adv. 1. in other words - otherwise stated; "in other words, we are broke"

The city expects to embark on the third phase of the project, from Colorado to San Fernando Road San Fernando Road is a major street in the city and county of Los Angeles. It starts off in Castaic as The Old Road, passing through Santa Clarita and the Newhall Pass, where upon its intersection with Sierra Highway near the junction of the Golden State (I-5) and the , toward the middle of 2006. That portion is expected to cost $1.6 million.
