MARINE COPTER GROUP HONORED SQUADRON SERVED IN KABUL.Byline: Daily News EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE Edwards Air Force Base, U.S. military installation, 301,000 acres (121,805 hectares), S Calif., NE of Lancaster; est. 1933. It is one of the largest air force bases in the United States and has the world's longest runway. - Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 769 was named Most Outstanding Heavy Helicopter Squadron in the Marine Corps for 2004-05. Marine Lt. Col. Rick Mullen, the squadron's commanding officer during its seven-month deployment to Afghanistan last year, accepted the trophy and citation Citation (foaled 1945) U.S. Thoroughbred racehorse. In four seasons he won 32 of 45 races, finished second in ten, and third in two. He won the 1948 Triple Crown, and became the first horse to win $1 million. He set a world record in 1950 by running a mile in 1:33 3/5. on behalf of the squadron last month in Reno, Nev., at the 35th Marine Corps Aviation Association Annual Symposium.
