The Antelope Valley College's softball players hope history will be on their side when they face Pasadena City College today in the first round of the State Southern Regionals at Palomar College The Palomar Community College District's facilities improvement measure, Proposition M, was passed by 57% of voters in the November 8, 2006 General Election. Antelope Valley, however, has been on a roll in Foothill Conference play, going 10-0 to win its fourth consecutive title. Cindy Sims and Angela Davison were selected as the conference's most valuable player and pitcher. Sims, a sophomore shortstop from Quartz Hill High, batted .556 with an on-base percentage of .688 in conference play. Davison (17-8), a freshman from Desert High who will start against Pasadena, was 6-0 with a 0.97 ERA against conference opponents.
