 MANUFACTURERS BANK TO REDUCE CREDIT CARD INTEREST RATES
 DETROIT, May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Manufacturers Bank, N.A., will reduce


the interest rate on its MasterCard and VISA Classic Fixed Rate credit cards, and its VISA Gold card, from 18 percent to 16.75 percent APR effective Friday, May 1, 1992. These interest rate changes will be applied to all existing balances, cash advances and new purchases.
 The annual fee on the MasterCard and VISA Classic credit cards also will be lowered from $16 to $15. This change will be implemented at the next annual fee anniversary date. The VISA Gold credit card does not have an annual fee.
 Manufacturers Bank, N.A., a subsidiary of Manufacturers National Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: MNTL), operates 130 banking offices throughout lower Michigan. Manufacturers National Corporation and Comerica Incorporated (NYSE: CMA) jointly announced a proposed merger in October 1991. The two corporations have received shareholder approval of the merger and await regulatory approval.
