Ken Colao, president and CEO of York Hunter, announced the promotion of Lynn Golubchik and Phillip Pignatelli to vice presidents of the firm.

Golubchik has been appointed to the position of vice president of administration. In her new role she reports to Ken Colao. Her responsibilities include management of the firm's human resource administration and York Hunter University, an in-house employee training and development program. Golubchik joined York Hunter in September 1998 as director of administration.

Pignatelli was named vice president of project management. Pignatelli will report to Dennis Prude, executive vice president of construction services. In this position, Pignatelli will take an active role in the training and development of project managers throughout the company. In addition, he will oversee the orientation and other local training and development efforts. Pignatelli joined York Hunter in May 1996 as project manager and was subsequently promoted to director of field operations.

FiberCity Networks, Inc. announced the appointment of Ray Potts as senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Potts, a 15-year telecommunications network industry veteran, will spearhead the growth of FiberCity Networks' fiber optic network in commerciol buildings worldwide. His responsibilities will include growing and overseeing the sales and marketing efforts of FiberCity.

Previously, Potts was vice president of marketing and sales at Cypress Communications, where he developed and coordinated marketing initiatives. He also worked with two wireless telecommunications companies -- Teligent, Inc. as regional vice president for sales operations and marketing, and Cable & Wireless, Inc. as regional vice president of sales.

Kathleen Wielkopolski, chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Gale & Wentworth LLC, was one of 13 women in the banking and finance industry honored at the Women's Fund of New Jersey's Sixth Annual Fall Event.

Wielkopolski has been chief financial officer of Gale & Wentworth since 1995 and, in 1999, was named chief operating officer. She oversees strategic planning, directs the overall financial resources of the company, oversees accounting and financial reporting, coordinates internal and external audits, directs MIS activities, establishes financial relationships, and evaluates the financial viability of new business opportunities.

Wielkopolski is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is active in professional and community organizations, is a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is past president of Executive Women of New Jersey and a past board member of the Academy of St. Aloysius.

Frederick J. Rudd, president of Eichner Rudd Management Associates, Ltd., has received the Emma Lazarus Award for Dynamic Leaders in Business from the Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York, Inc. The award was presented at ABO's annual dinner dance in November.

Honorees of the award are selected for their contributions to the real estate industry or the New York business environment. Rudd has spent his entire career in real estate, starting as an assistant property manager in the 1970's. Under his dynamic leadership, Eichner Rudd has expanded from residential property management to ownership, and in the past year he reorganized and expanded the company's brokerage division, The Rudd Group, Ltd.

The Emma Lazarus Award is the most recent of numerous honors Rudd has received. He has twice received ABO's Special Award for Excellence in Management, Habitat Magazine has acknowledged his work with several Management Achievement Awards, and The Cooperator recognized Eichner Rudd Management Associates with its Leadership in Management Award in 2000.

Rudd is past chairman of the residential management committee of the Real Estate Board of New York, a founder of the Association of Cooperative and Condominium Managers, and currently serves as a director of the ABO.

Glenn Popowitz has been promoted to director of property management with Westminster Management Company, the property management division of Kushner Companies, announced Richard Stadtmauer, managing director of the organization.

In his new position, Popowitz will supervise Kushner Companies' northern region multifamily housing portfolio. This includes more than 50 apartment complexes, totaling more than 12,000 units in New Jersey's Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Passaic, and Union counties.

A resident of Suffern, N.Y., Popowitz joined Kushner Companies in 1996 as the property manager of a single apartment complex. He has consistently assumed additional responsibilities during the past four years.

Katz & Associates announced that Robert V. Blanchflower has been named director of real estate for the northeast region.

Prior to joining Katz, he operated Blanchflower Realty Inc. for 18 years, where he serviced many of New England's most active and productive developer and management firms. Prior to starting his own firm, he was director of real estate for Papa Ginos of North America. Blanchflower holds a B.A. in history from Assumption College in Worcester, Mass.

Denholtz Associates has hired Steven E. Geltzeiler as director of leasing, reported vice president of leasing Kristine Burnitis.

Geltzeiler will be based at the company's Rahway, N.J. headquarters and will be responsible for leasing, marketing, and tenant and broker relations for the company's Northern New Jersey portfolio.

Prior to joining Denholtz Associates, Geltzeiler served as director of leasing for Mack-Cali Realty Corporation where he was responsible for leasing and marketing the company's Northern New Jersey properties. Previously, Geltzeiler was a senior vice president at Bender & Company, Inc. where he was responsible for leasing and marketing properties on behalf of such clients as Prudential, Metropolitan Life, Chemical Bank, Amresco Advisors, New York Life and a Senior Auditor at Touche Ross & Company.

Geltzeiler is a graduate of Lehigh University. He is a licensed New Jersey real estate salesperson as well as a certified public accountant.

Michael Shalen has joined the industrial services group at Grubb & Ellis. In this capacity, he will represent both tenants and owners in the leasing and sale of industrial properties throughout New Jersey. He will be based at the company's Fairfield, New Jersey office.

Prior to joining Grubb & Ellis, Shalen served as an industrial sales and leasing agent at Weichert Commercial Realtors. In addition, he has been employed by J.E. Robert Company in the compliance department and Ford Consumer Finance as a appraisal department manager.

Shalen received his B.S. from Indiana University and his M.B.A. from George Mason University. He resides in South Orange, N.J.

Joe Scholes has been inducted as president of the Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management. His term runs from Dec. 1 through Nov. 30, 2001.

A 15-year veteran in real estate management, Scholes is vice president of Gumley Haft and earned the certfied property manager designation in 1998. Scholes received Habitat magazine's Gold Management Achievement Award in 1997 and is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the New York Building Managers Association. A graduate of Drew University with a B.A. degree, Scholes has managed office, retail, and residential rental properties, as well as cooperatives and condominiums.

One of his priorities as president of IREM's New York chapter is to increase membership by encouraging more property and asset managers to seek certified property manager and accredited residential manager status. Scholes is planning to book speakers for IREM's luncheon series, such as radio talk show host Curtis Sliwa for Jan. 17 and James V. O'Connor, executive vice president of Insignia Residential Group, for Feb. 21.

James G. Nugent has joined Gale & Wentworth, LLC. as vice president. His primary responsibility will be managing the conversion of an industrial building in Jersey City, N.J. into a telecom hotel.

Prior to joining Gale & Wentworth, Nugent served as senior vice president of leasing for Mack-Cali Realty Corporation of Cranford, N.J. where he was responsible for the leasing of a 115property, 15-million-square-foot office and flex portfolio in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.

Nugent was a vice president of leasing and director of leasing for Cali Realty Corporation from 1984-1997. Earlier in his career, Nugent was employed by Burroughs Development Corporation as director of leasing and was a real estate manager for the Marriott Corporation.

Nugent is a graduate of Western Illinois University, is a certified public accountant and holds his real estate salesperson's license in New Jersey. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
