Advanced Digital Internet (ADI), a provider of high-speed Internet service for residential buildings, has announced the addition of two seasoned marketing professionals to its staff.

Cassandra Anderson (photo) formerly vice president of The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), has joined ADI as director of marketing and sales, announced ADI president Andrew Benson.

In her new position, Anderson will develop a cohesive marketing strategy to build ADI's customer base.

"We are delighted to have Cass on our team," said Benson. "Her knowledge of the New York real estate market will be a tremendous asset in promoting ADI and its technology to end-user customers in the metropolitan area and beyond."

At REBNY, Anderson was responsible for industry relations with some of the City's top residential and commercial real estate brokerage firms and assisting brokers in establishing standards of conduct and business practices for the real estate community.

Earlier in her career, Anderson had several stints with the City of New York, as personnel manager for the NYC Office for Economic Development and various posts with the NYC Public Development Corporation (now called Economic Development Corp.).

A founding member of CREW and a board member of NACORE's New York chapter, Anderson is a graduate of the University of Dayton and presently resides in Sleepy Hollow with her husband and two children.

Steven Granat (photo) has signed on as vice president of Sales and Marketing for ADI.

"Steve brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will assist us in further expansion throughout New York City and the surrounding areas," said Benson. "We are excited to have him on board."

In this position, Granat will head up ADI's sales force and create marketing programs that promote ADI's wireless Internet service targeted for real estate properties throughout the New York City area.

"I look forward to maintaining ADI's position as a leading provider of warp-speed and wireless Internet service for residential buildings in New York," said Granat. "Specifically, I am excited to be a part of ADI's T-1 small building initiative, which focus on bringing this service to smaller buildings that don't have the same Internet access as larger ones," he added.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Grant has held upper management positions in various corporations, including Edwards Blank Associates, Universal Communications and Allied Digital Technologies. In addition, he was the founder and president of Electronic Marketing Associates, where he expanded the company revenue by 300 percent. He comes directly from a Busdev Management consulting practice in Great Neck, New York.

Thomas Garland (photo) has been appointed regional vice president and director of Retail Services at NAI. He will be responsible for brokerage services for the southeastern region of the U.S.

"I'll be overseeing all aspects of NAI's operations in the southeastern U.S., which includes ten states and 30 full-service commercial real estate brokerage offices," Garland explains. "I'll provide daily leadership, motivation and management for approximately 500 commercial real estate professionals. That includes new business development, sales, sales management and general development of revenue. A market this size is a real challenge - an exciting one."

"Mr. Garland's background is mainly in retail, but his general knowledge of the real estate industry is remarkably broad," reports Jeffrey M. Finn, president and COO of NAI. "He's been associated with NAI for nearly a decade, first as a broker with NAI Brannen Goddard in Atlanta, and more recently as a regional director, so he knows our system through and through. He'll handle delivery of services, recruiting new clients and evaluation of NAI member offices, as well as keeping ahead of the curve on the latest technological developments."

Garland served as regional director, operating out of Atlanta, from 1979 to 1999; his tenure at NAI Brannen Goddard lasted from 1992 to 1997. He entered the real estate industry in 1986 as a brokerage representative for The David Kornblatt Company.

Garland is a graduate of Western Maryland College and received a Certification in Real Estate Marketing from Johns Hopkins University I Baltimore. His affiliations include the Greater Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, the International Council of Shopping Centers and NACORE.

Perkins & Will has promoted Kristin Barclay (photo) from associate principal for the international architectural firm's New York practice, according to Carl W. Ordemann, managing principal in New York. Prior to joining Perkins & Will, Barclay worked for 19 years with HLW International in New York, where she served as head of business development and strategy, and principal of the firm.

At Perkins & Will, Barclay will, "help guide the firm's vigorous penetration of the corporate and financial services sectors, enhance and reinforce our very strong presence in health care and education, and assist in targeting additional markets and geographic areas for growth," Ordemann commented.

"Kristy has a track record of enormous depth and a very broad range of experience," he adds. "Her skills will be an invaluable aid in our program of expansion."

Barclay began her career with the Essex County Planning Office in Elizabethtown, NY, where she prepared the first land-use plans and zoning ordinances for the county's section of the Adirondack Park.

After several years with the Washington, DC engineering firm of De Leuw Cather & Company, developing preservation plans for historic sections of the Northeast rail corridor, Barclay joined HLW in New York.

Barclay earned masters degrees in landscape architecture and regional planning at Cornell University after obtaining her undergraduate degree at Smith College. She resides with her family in Darien, CT.

Melissa Cohn (photo), chairman and CEO of Manhattan Mortgage Company, has been recognized as one of America's top residential brokers.

Cohn earned her fourth consecutive number one ranking in Mortgage Originator's Magazine's annual nationwide survey by personally closing on 740 mortgages with a cumulative worth of $410 million. In 1998. Cohn topped all other mortgage brokers by handling loans worth over $480 million.

With Manhattan's co-op, condominium and townhouse markets sizzling, Cohn believes that the best is still to come. "We're certainly capable of that type of volume, given our advances in cyberspace technology, our new website, our expanded staff and the red-hot nature of the residential market at the current time," she said.

Insignia Residential Group has appointed Nancy Porcaro (photo) to the position of account executive. In this capacity, Porcaro will serve as the property manager for several luxury cooperative and condominium properties on Manhattan's Upper East Side. James V. O'Connor, senior vice president and executive managing director of Insignia Residential Group, made the announcement.

Prior to joining Insignia Residential Group, Porcaro was an administrator and Client Relations coordinator for the New York office of California-based Oakwood Corporate Housing.

Porcaro earned her BA from the University of Massachusetts.

Commenting on Porcaro's appointment, O'Connor said, "With more than 20 years of property management experience, Porcaro will undoubtedly make a valuable addition to the Insignia team."

W. Barton Wood III (photo) has been named managing director for New Jersey operations at Interior Move Consultants, Inc. (IMC), in Manhattan.

In this newly created position, Wood will be responsible for introducing IMC to New Jersey corporations and will spearhead its marketing, business development, sales, technological development and recruiting activities. The company handles office relocations and project management for corporations in NYC and Long Island.

Prior to joining IMC, Wood served as president of The W.B. Wood Company in New Providence, NJ - a family-owned business he first joined in 1964 and which he retired from in 1999.

"I am eager to begin this new phase of my professional life with IMC," Wood said, "and I'm confident that my experience in the office furniture industry and with New Jersey's business community will provide me with a solid foundation for this new position. I look forward to being a part of IMC's success in New Jersey as we introduce our system of corporate relocation management to businesses here."

Grubb & Ellis is pleased to announce the promotion of Richard D. Marchisio (photo) to senior vice president and managing director for the company's New Jersey offices. Marchisio joined the company in 1996 and previously served as the Industrial Services director.

In his new position, Marchisio will be responsible for managing real estate advisory services in New Jersey.

Marchisio began his career in 1985 and has nearly 15 years experience in the commercial real estate industry. During his career, Marchisio has served as vice president at Sheldon Gross Realty, Inc. and has represented such prestigious companies as Eveready Battery Company, Chinon American Corp., Black & Decker and Exxon. He has also represented such leading developers as Elberon Realty & Development, Federal Business Centers, Murray Construction, Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States and Port Authority of New York/New Jersey.

Marchisio is a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh and sits on the executive committee of IOREBA.
