Vollmer Associates has named Stelios Bertos, Toby Hansson, and Gary Sorge as associates.

Bertos is a senior structural engineer with 15 years of experience. His specialties include bridge inspection, rehabilitation, and design projects. He most recently served as team leader on the biennial inspection program for the Goethals bridge in Staten Island. Bertos holds a B.S. and M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and the New Jersey Institute of Technology respectively. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and resides in East Northport.

Hansson, director of Vollmer's Hamden, Conn. office, has 13 years of experience in surveying, engineering design, and construction on a broad range of public and private projects. He has also assisted in the development of various computer technology systems, including the Global Positioning System for surveys and GIS projects and has managed CADD base mapping and utility plans For various roadway engineering projects. Hansson holds a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the American Planning Association. He resides in New Haven, Conn.

Sorge, who is also based in Hamden, has been involved in a wide variety of recreational and site development projects in his 15 years of practice. He has managed the preparation of municipal recreation master plans, park master plans, schematic designs, presentations, and contract documents entailing design development and layout, as well as landscape, grading, and drainage plans. Sorge holds a B.S. in landscape architecture from Rutgers University's Cook College. He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Norwalk Conservation Commission, and the American Planning Association. He resides in Norwalk, Conn.

The Staubach Company announced that real estate industry veterans Timothy M. Bayd ala and Jeffrey C. Norman have joined the firm to direct the investment sales group in the company's New York office. Baydala and Norman will serve as managing directors, focusing on investment sales with institutional clients and private investors.

Prior to joining the firm, Baydala specialized in institutional investment marketing at Landauer Real Estate Counselors. Previously, he was executive vice president of Chesterton International Ltd. Baydala also brings extensive experience with acquisition and disposition of joint ventures, experience gained at Cowen and Company.

Norman also hails from Landauer Real Estate Counselors, where he specialized in national institutional investment marketing. Most recently, he served as managing director with the New York district of Grubb & Ellis. Prior to joining Landauer's investment services group, Norman was vice president of the firm's valuation and technical services division.

Peter J. Cocoziello, chief executive officer and president of Advance Realty Group, announced several personnel assignments and promotions:

Robert P. Cahill, senior vice president and head of the firm's development division, was given the additional title of chief operating officer of Advance Construction Company. Cahill has been with Advance Realty Group for 15 years and is a member of the company's executive committee.

Thomas Michnewicz was promoted to senior vice president of development. He, who has been with the company for five years, will have responsibility for the development activities in the Somerset/Hunterdon County market.

Nicholas Stathakis, currently the controller, has been promoted to vice president and controller. He has been with the company for nine years and is responsible for all accounting and financial control functions for the company's income producing properties and development projects.

Eric R Becher has been promoted to vice president of capital markets. He is responsible for acquisition and development underwriting, property valuation, as well as, placing project financing. Becher has been with the company for three years.

Daniel Minkoff has been promoted to vice president of asset management. Minkoff has been with Advance Realty Group since 1998 and has recently assumed responsibility for the asset management functions of the company's Institutional Joint Ventures.

Joseph Petriello has been- promoted to director of acquisition services. In this capacity, Petriello is responsible for due diligence functions for the company's acquisitions. He has been with the company for three years.

Rockwood Realty Associates, LLC announced that Brian Dowd has joined the firm as a vice president. He will focus on senior housing property transactions for new and existing clients, including the Westport Senior Living Investment Fund.

Dowd formerly served as a vice president at Shattuck Hammond Partners, where he worked on acquisitions, dispositions, and bond underwritings of senior housing and long term care properties. Prior to that, he served as the director of healthcare lending at Parallel Capital, where he financed loans for senior housing, skilled nursing, and subacute rehabilitation facilities.

Dowd holds a B.A. in economics from Iona College and a M.B.A. in finance from New York University's Stem School of Business.

Lisa Horvath has been promoted to vice president at Albert B. Ashforth, Inc. Management Services.

A Stratford resident, Horvath is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, annual budgets, monthly billing, and accounts payable for Ashforth owned and managed buildings. She also plays a role in developing and implementing property management accounting policies and procedures. She joined Albert B. Ashforth, Inc. Management Services in 1990 as a staff accountant. She was promoted in 1993 to accounting manager and in 1996 to senior accounting manager.

Horvath has a B.S. in accounting from the Sacred Heart University.

Scott Lifschultz, principal in Chase Commercial/TCN Worldwide's retail division, announced the appointment of Jon E. Sabrowski as-a vice president of the retail division. In this capacity, Sabrowski will be responsible for assisting both retail tenants and landlords with real- estate leasing and sales strategies. Prior to joining Chase Commercial/TCN Worldwide, Sabrowski was employed as an associate at both Rand Real Estate and William Pitt Real Estate's commercial division.

Louise Sunshine, president and chief executive officer of The Sunshine Group, Inc., announced the recent hiring of James Lansill as managing director and Marjorie Reed Gordon as director of international marketing advisory council.

Lansill joined The Sunshine Group to spearhead the company's involvement in New York's downtown area. He works closely with developers, architects, and designers to establish the highest and best use for individual sites. In addition, Lansill will be responsible for creating and implementing marketing strategies and assembling and managing dynamic sales teams. Lansill holds a B.S. in international marketing from Northeastern University, has studied English and creative writing at Princeton, and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in the writing program at the University of California, Irvine.

Gordon's first assignment for The Sunshine Group was on the sales team for 173/176 Perry St. In addition, she has generated impressive individual sales for The Sunshine Group private brokerage division, including the $11.5 million sale of a 5,200-square-foot apartment at 888 Park Ave. Prior to her association with The Sunshine Group, Gordon was a luxury goods consultant to such corporations as ITT, Canada Dry Beverages, Sotheby's, Christie's and the Spiegel Catalogue. She has authored two books on entertaining, "Entertaining All Year Round" and "Entertaining With More Style Than Money" and has collaborated on a Venetian glass book entitled "Confection In Glass."

Patricia Warburg Cliff has joined the Corcoran Group as senior vice president and director of German language sales.

A native New Yorker, Cliff spent a number of years in Europe, where she worked in real estate development in Germany until 1973. Her first U .S. assignment was to consult with the Onassis Group on the international marketing of Olympic Tower. Cliff has specialized in the sale of condominiums, cooperatives, townhouses, and investment properties.

After receiving her B.A. from Marymount College, Cliff pursued a doctoral program in linguistics at the Ludwig-Maximillans Universitaet in Munich, Germany, and received a J.D. from Hofstra Law School. Cliff is a member of the New York State Bar. She is a regular speaker at various corporate events and has been a guest lecturer at the New York University Real Estate Institute, where she developed a course "Selling Cooperatives and Condominiums."

The Spector Group announced that Joseph Randazzo has been promoted to partner of the firm. Randazzo has served as project manager for a broad scope of projects, including the regional operations center for the Sony Corporation of America in San Jose, Calif. and the Prudential quarters in Newark, N.J. Currently, he heads the project team for the expansion of Computer Associates International world headquarters in Islandia, N.Y. He has been with the Spector Group for 15 years.
