Patricia A. Valenti has been appointed to associate director at Cushman & Wakefield of Connecticut by Kenneth M. Krasnow, regional managing director of Cushman & Wakefield's Connecticut and New York offices.

Valenti is a real estate veteran with more than 15 years of experience. She joins Cushman & Wakefield of Connecticut from Mack-Cali Realty Corp., formerly the Robert Martin Company, where she served as director of leasing in the Elmsford, N.Y. office. During her tenure with the company, Valenti managed and maintained approximately 175 accounts and oversaw the office and industrial leasing, space planning, legal and construction aspects for some of Westchester and Fairfield County's top national and local companies. At Cushman & Wakefield she will work with Paul Kauffman, a 16-year industry veteran and Steven Baker, an 11-year industry veteran. Both Kauffman and Baker are directors in the firm.

At Cushman & Wakefield, Valenti's responsibilities will include new business development, lease development and negotiations as well as tenant and agency representation in both Westchester and Fairfield Counties.

A resident of Rye, N.Y., Valenti earned Mack-Cali Realty's "Deal Person of the Year" in 1998 for closing 64 transactions, the most of any Mack-Cali Realty leasing representative. Valenti's professional memberships include Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), national Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP.) Inc. announced Frank V. Caccavo, Jr. has been appointed senior director of the firm's brokerage services in East Rutherford, N.J. In addition, the Spring Lake, N.J., resident was recently named one of the international real estate services firm's Top 100 performers based on transactions completed in 1999.

His recent professional accomplishments include negotiating a 486,000-square-foot lease to Allied Beverage at 600 Washington Ave. in Carlstadt on behalf of ProLogis, the property's owner; a long-term, 175,890-square-foot lease for Sales Support Services at 1 Matrix Drive in Monroe and a 138,870-square-foot lease on Seaview Drive in Secaucus, N.J. on behalf of MicroBioMedics.

Laura Kelson has been named Vice President, Director of Marketing at Douglas Elliman, the New York residential real estate brokerage firm. In this newly established position, Ms. Kelson will be responsible for handling all marketing activities for Douglas Elliman's New York and suburban offices.

Prior to her New York real estate career, Ms. Kelson spent more than 20 years in corporate marketing, advertising and direct marketing agency functions including positions as Director of Corporate Communications and Vice President, Account Director.

She is a member of the Sutton Area Community Association and the Real Estate Board of New York.

Syska & Hennessy, a leading consulting engineering firm, has named Don Procz, P E., to the position of vice president.

In his new position, Mr. Procz will serve as managing director of Syska & Hennessy's Princeton, N.J. office. His primary focus will include the development of relationships with existing and new "strategic clients," continuing to market a fully integrated offering of the firm's services and striving to improve the engineering process in the office.

Mr. Procz has more than 13 years of engineering experience with .a special focus in the corporate, health care and pharmaceutical market sectors. Prior to joining Syska & Hennessy, Mr. Procz worked at a Princeton-based engineering firm where his responsibilities included business development, marketing and project management, focusing on continued strategic growth and profitability.

A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a BS degree in mechanical engineering, Mr. Procz also earned an MBA from LaSalle University. His professional affiliations include a membership with the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering.

In a strategic move designed to further enhance the company's North American expansion, OnSite Access, Inc., one of the fastest growing building-centric integrated communications providers, has appointed 18-year Canadian communications industry veteran John Piercy as president & general manager of OnSite Access-Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary. Piercy will oversee OnSite Access-Canada's daily operations and execute the company's business plan and growth strategy across Canada.

"John's impressive track record and senior executive management experience with established and entrepreneurial companies in the Canadian communications industry will greatly enhance our North American expansion strategy," said Scott Jarus, president and chief operating officer for OnSite Access. Through OnSite Access-Canada, Piercy will oversee the implementation of the joint venture between Oxford Properties and OnSite Access, which covers 25 million square feet of office space in Canada. In addition, Piercy will oversee the acquisition of new real estate access agreements, as well as the formation of additional strategic alliances and partnerships in the Canadian markets.

Mark T. De Riemer (photo) has been appointed senior vice president of investment banking in the New York office of John Jones Lasalle. De Riemer will represent national clients, including corporate, pension funds, developers and financial institutions in the disposition and financing of commercial properties throughout the eastern United States.

A 19-year veteran of the industry, De Reimer, 43, most recently held the post of first vice president of investment properties at CB Richard Ellis. In his seven years at that firm, where he was responsible for commercial property dispositions and financings of institutional properties, De Riemer was active in procuring, processing, and executing listed transactions totaling more than $500 million.

He has a BA from Colgate University and an MBA from Columbia University.

Mark Gordon has been promoted to Managing Director and head of the Lodging and Leisure Group of Sonnenblick-Goldman Company. Mr. Gordon, who has also become a principal of the firm, is based in Sonnenblick-Goldman's New York headquarters. Mr. Gordon's primary responsibilities include the procurement of capital through structured finance and sale transactions for the firm's lodging clients. In addition to these responsibilities, he will now be involved in the development of a real estate advisory group and the creation of new distribution channels that will allow the firm to offer additional services to its clients.

Gordon joined the firm in 1994 and has played an integral role in the development of what has become the preeminent Lodging and Leisure Group in the industry, with an average annual transaction volume of $1 billion. Mr. Gordon has completed more than $3.5 billion in transactions, including the $150 million equity placement for the development of the resorts at Universal Studios in Orlando, the $97 million sale of the Ritz-Carlton-Tyson's Comer, the $108 million sale of the Hyatt Regency Washington, DC and the $243 million sale of the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco.

Prior to joining Sonnenblick-Goldrnan, Mr. Gordon was an Associate Director with Williams GVA Worldwide. He received a MS degree in real estate finance from New York University and a BS degree in finance and economics from Ithaca College. He is a member of the New York Hospitality Council, the Real Estate Board of New York and the Young Mortgage Bankers Association. He has lectured at universities and conferences such as New York University's Real Estate institute and at the Cornell University Conference on Hospitality Industry Strategy.

elink Communications, a leading tenant-centric provider of broadband communications and networking services to commercial real estate, announced the appointment of Dr. Audrey Curtis, as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Curtis joins elink from the post of Vice President of Technology Planning and Alignment at Concert, a $10 billion joint venture between AT&T and British Telecommunications which serves the global communications needs of multinational companies, traditional and emerging carriers, wholesalers and Internet Service Providers. As clink's CTO, she will be responsible for the technology vision, and roadmap for the firm -- involved in all technology partnerships, network, systems and product development.

Dr. Curtis has a 25-year history in telecommunications and technology development and will bring her experience in design and development of new technologies, global IP architectures, and services to broaden elink's global reach and enhance elink's broadband fiber-optic infrastructure and communcations package. During her tenure at Concert, Dr. Curtis was responsible for technology strategy, technical marketing and alignment of IP technical product plans across AT&T, BT and Concert including IP- VPN, web hosting and messaging.
