MAN SLAYS EX-WIFE, SELF IN ROW OVER CAR.

Byline: Associated Press

A man shot his ex-wife to death and killed himself Friday after she refused to give him the keys to her car, police said.

Robert Pena, a 45-year-old doorman in New York City, jumped out of the bushes and confronted Andriana Pena outside her Freeport home at 1:30 a.m., shouting that she was driving his car, Detective Sgt. Daniel Severin said.

Andriana Pena, 25, locked the driver's door, but Pena jumped in the back seat and shot her in the back of the head, Severin said. He then shot himself in the head.

The white Acura Legend had been bought by and registered to the man's wife, Severin said.

The couple had been divorced for two years and had a 5-year-old son.
