MAN GETS TWO YEARS IN DOWAGER'S BILKING.

A man who married an elderly widow and, with his son and daughter-in-law, was accused of bilking her out of her life savings, will serve a two-year prison term and will be forced to make financial restitution.

Timothy Lawrence Watkins, 54, was scheduled to return to North Valley Superior Court on Dec. 2 for a restitution hearing. He and his son, Loren Timothy Watkins, 29, and his daughter-in-law, Christina Marie Watkins, 27, all pleaded no contest in the San Fernando San Fernando, city, Argentina

Judge Ronald Coen dismissed charges of conspiracy and grand theft against the three during the hearing Tuesday. The case had been set to go to trial before prosecutors and defense attorneys worked out the plea agreement.

Coen also sentenced Loren Watkins and his wife, Christina, to five years of supervised probation each. Although Christina has been free on bail, avoiding jail time, she was sentenced to 750 hours of community service, a court clerk said.

All three must make restitution in exchange for not being convicted on the charge of theft by a caretaker from an elder adult, the clerk said.

Timothy Watkins married Mary Cartwright a few months after her 88-year-old husband, Alfred Charles ``A.C.'' Cartwright, died of cancer in March 1996.
