MAN GETS 6 YEARS IN ROBBERY : DEFENDANT LINKED TO JEWELRY SHOP SLAYING.

Roberts faces life in prison without the possibility of parole when he is sentenced Monday. Prosecutors decided not to seek the death penalty.

Roberts originally was considered a prosecution witness, after he told authorities that he stayed in the car while others committed the crime, but sheriff's investigators later determined that he was directly involved.

Johnson and Tyrran Wilson testified that they saw Roberts leave the car with a gun and return with the gun and jewelry, officials said.
