Police identified the suspect as Jose Francisco Martin and said he was taken into custody Thursday by San Francisco detectives after they found him working at a restaurant in the Fisherman's Wharf-North Beach area. Martin was booked on suspicion of murder and kidnapping in connection with the Las Vegas case and will be taken back to Las Vegas, police said. Police also said Martin is being investigated in connection with another homicide in Mexico. De Los Santos said Martin lived in Thousand Oaks for a number of years where he was a known gang member. Police said Martin apparently moved from place to place after the 1998 homicide, returning to Thousand Oaks occasionally.
