MAN, 39, SLAIN IN DISPUTE SHOOTING TOOK PLACE AT SUMMIT.

WOODLAND HILLS - A man was shot to death by a business associate late Saturday night at the Summit apartment complex after an all-day dispute turned violent, police said.

David Matthew Leif, 27, of Woodland Hills was arrested on suspicion of murder and held on $1 million bail, according to according to

Leif turned himself in to authorities after the shooting and told police he fired at the other man three times, striking him once, in self-defense (Law) in protection of self, - it being permitted in law to a party on whom a grave wrong is attempted to resist the wrong, even at the peril of the life of the assailiant.

The name of the 39-year-old man who died was not initially released.
