Forget Bruce and Demi. This month's fashion buzz is about another couple - Barbie and Bugs.

They're the latest celebrities to model for some of the world's top designers.

Mattel's plastic babe - who turns 38 next year but still looks a buff 18 - has gone from toy stores to upscale department stores This is a list of department stores. . You'll find Barbie dressed by CK at Bloomingdale's for $65 (look for her in their new pink-and-white Barbie boutique), and over at Macy's you can buy City Shopper Barbie dressed in a sheath and coat lined in an original Miller conversation print using Barbie icons for $70.

 Barbie fans, there are the ``My Fair Lady'' collectible Barbies, priced between $80 and $110 each at stores all over town. The collection includes a trio of brunet Barbies in well-executed copies of the stunning gowns worn by Audrey Hepburn in the vintage film that has recently been restored and re-released for home viewing.

You can see Bugs in these new clothes in the windows of the new Warner Bros. store in New York now through Christmas, or wait until January when the collection will be put on permanent exhibition in the Warner Bros. Museum in Burbank.

Sears, which recently opened at Topanga Plaza, has added its own line of golf clothing. The Eagle Golf collection features classic styles with knit polo shirts with some cool jacquards and classic cable-knit V-necked sweater vests to wear over them. The prices are $25 to $36 each.

If you live out in Ventura County, which isn't known as a shopper's haven, take note. The charming new Promenade at Westlake is now open with three clothing boutiques, several gift shops and chic eateries, plus an upscale Cost Plus. Not to be missed is the Barnes & Noble bookstore that is reminiscent of vintage libraries in which you can meet friends to chat about books or talk to authors. There's a Starbucks inside, as well.

At the Glendale Galleria, they've got a bunch of new stores including Sebastian International's Trucco Atelier, which is the Woodland Hills-based company's first cosmetic workshop store, filled with its Trucco line of cosmetics and its new green-tea skin-care line, which is supposed to soothe stressed-out skin (the moisture renewal cream is super rich and fragrant). Also new are the Rag Factory, which carries hot names such as Donna Karan, Todd Oldham and Jill Stewart; and Georgiou, a retail chain specializing in career clothing and special occasion dresses with a European flair.

Today - Bloomingdale's at the Fashion Square mall in Sherman Oaks will hold a fashion and fitness workshop for mothers-to-be from 4 to 6 p.m.

Nov. 22 - Calvin Klein Underwear model Christy Turlington will sign autographs at 12:30 p.m. at Bloomingdale's in Century City. At 6 p.m., there will be a fall fashion show featuring designs made of Tencel fabric.

Saturday - Informal modeling of fashions for the full-figured woman will be held at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Camellia camellia (kəmēl`yə) [for G. J. Sunday - Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows will greet customers from 1 to 2 p.m. at JC Penney at the Northridge Fashion Center Northridge Fashion Center is a large shopping mall located in Northridge, California. It opened in 1971. It was severely damaged during the Northridge Earthquake in 1994, but renovated extensively in 1995 and 1998. . Elmarie Wendel, from ``3rd Rock From the Sun,'' will be greeting customers. Fans are asked to donate a nonperishable food item to benefit LIFE (Love Is Feeding Everyone).

Sunday - Amy Pietz from ``Caroline in the City'' and Jackie Joseph of ``Little Shop of Horrors'' will meet and greet shoppers at 1 p.m. at JC Penney at the Glendale Galleria.

Dec. 2-3 - Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills will hold trunk shows for Louis Feraud and Rebecca Moses. Modeling will be from noon to 3 p.m.

Dec. 4 - Hospice of the Conejo Valley will hold its annual tree-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. with entertainment at the Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks in the JC Penney court.

Dec. 10 - The Chabad of Conejo will hold a menorah-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. at the Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks in front of Robinsons-May.
