The Cowboy Festival celebrating Santa Clarita's Western heritage started Thursday night with entertainment and featured artisans; it will continue this afternoon with inductions into the Walk of Western Stars sidewalk tribute along San Fernando Road San Fernando Road is a major street in the city and county of Los Angeles. It starts off in Castaic as The Old Road, passing through Santa Clarita and the Newhall Pass, where upon its intersection with Sierra Highway near the junction of the Golden State (I-5) and the  in Newhall.

On Saturday and Sunday, Melody Ranch will open at 10 a.m. with sales of art and Western gear, entertainment and cowboy-style grub. There is no parking at the studio, but shuttles will run from a lot at 12th and Arch streets in Newhall.
