MAGNETEK COMPLETES PLANT EXPANSION IN BREMEN
LOS ANGELES, May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, on the 30th anniversary

of its power electronics center in Bremen, Germany, MagneTek Inc. (NYSE: MAG) officially opened a 1,209-square-meter (13,000-square-foot) addition to the facility, nearly doubling its production capacity to accommodate expected sales growth.
MagneTek Bremen develops, manufactures and markets power supplies for computerized avionics and telecommunications systems. MagneTek power supplies are used in both military and commercial applications on land, sea and in the air throughout the world.
Since its acquisition by MagneTek in 1989, the Bremen-based power electronics center (formerly EuroAtlas GmbH) has doubled its annual sales volume to 22 million DM ($14 million). Frank Perna, MagneTek's president and chief executive officer, noted that NATO electronic ("C3I") retrofit programs and rapidly increasing commercial use of power electronics justified expansion of the Bremen center.
Early in 1992, MagneTek Bremen received recognition for having met NATO's highest quality standard (AQAP-1) as well as the highest international quality system standard (DIN/ISO 9001).
MagneTek manufactures Energy Engineered(TM) electrical equipment -- including lighting ballasts, transformers, power systems, sensors, motors, drives and generators -- at 68 plants in North America and overseas. Listed on the New York Stock Exchange, MagneTek reported sales of $1.1 billion for its fiscal year ended June 30, 1991.
