It is situated in the Alps between Austria and Switzerland and is bounded in the west by the Rhine River. Vaduz is the capital. 11-1 Saturday in qualifying for the 1998 World Cup while England and Nigeria won and Germany was held to a 1-1 tie by Northern Ireland. On the busiest-ever weekend of World Cup action with 34 games - including 19 in Europe - England beat Georgia 2-0, the Netherlands routed Wales 7-1, Austria beat Latvia 2-1, Portugal beat Ukraine 1-0 and Albania tied Armenia 1-1. In Africa, Nigeria beat Burkina Faso 2-0 on a pair of goals by Daniel Amokachi, South Africa beat Zaire 1-0 and Morocco beat Sierra Leone 4-0. France, which will host the 1998 World Cup and does not have to qualify, lost 1-0 at Denmark in an exhibition game. Spurred by three goals from Dejvi Gavevski, the Macedonians won at Liechtenstein for its second victory in Group Eight, sending the home team to its fourth straight loss. Mitko Stojkovski, Toni Micevski and Sasa Ciric scored two goals each, and Georgi Hristo and Vanco Micevsk scored one each. With Liechtenstein trailing 9-0, Franz Schadler scored in the 79th minute.
