MACDONALD DETTWILER SIGNS UPGRADE CONTRACT WITH KOREA.

This is the second in a series of annual contracts from KAIST to deliver a complete capability to Korea.

This KAIST upgrade will use visible data from SPOT, JERS-1 and MOS-1 sensors as well as synthetic aperture radar Synthetic aperture radar (SAR)

Korea's original facility was installed by MacDonald Dettwiler in 1994, and was the beginning of KoreaUs earth observation capability. MacDonald Dettwiler is the prime contractor for the KAIST upgrade project, which is expected to be completed in October 1995.
