MACA honors leaders at annual meeting. (FYI News & Notes).

The Mid American CropLife Association (MACA), St. Louis, honored industry, media and academic leaders at its annual meeting. Charlie Fischer, of Dow AgroSciences, Indianapolis, received the Industry Vision Award for his active support of regional and national industry associations. The Educator of the Year Award went to Western Illinois University's Dr. Gordon Roskamp, for his 27 years of experience in education and his work in the field of crop protection products. Den Gardner, editorial director of Ag Retailer magazine and owner of Gardner & Gardner Communications, New Prague, Minn., received the Ruth White Media Award for his coverage of the crop protection industry from the retailer-dealer perspective. A special Ambassador of the Year Award was presented to the Helena Chemical Company, Memphis, Tenn. Doug Goff accepted the award on behalf of the company.

The Association's most coveted award--the Dean Roy Achievement Award--was presented to Myron Carter, a logistics specialist for Jacobson Warehouse Company. Carter began his career with American Cyanamid's fiber division and went on to serve 30 years at various crop protection companies--Uniroyal, Geigy, Shell and DuPont. He has been active in MACA for 10 years, with a seven-year stint as chairman of the distribution and environment committee.
