MAC NETWORK ADDS CONVENIENCE FOR DELAWARE, MARYLAND, NEW JERSEY AND PENNSYLVANIA MAC CARDHOLDERS

PHILADELPHIA, March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective immediately, many financial institutions that participate in MONEY ACCESS SERVICE INC. (MAC) will now be permitted to allow their MAC cardholders to conduct automated teller machine (ATM) deposit transactions across the Maryland state line.
MAC financial institutions in Maryland may accept items from cardholders for deposit to their accounts in Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania financial institutions. A reciprocal arrangement will allow Maryland MAC cardholders to make deposits in their accounts at participating MAC ATMs in Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
"This arrangement will have a significant and positive impact on the MAC network's on-going expansion efforts in the Maryland market," said Branded Network Business manager Michael L. Douglas. "We are committed to growth in this market, and we are pleased to join our current and future participating Maryland financial institutions in offering a more comprehensive level of service to their customers."
"The reciprocity arrangement is another example of the competitive advantages that the MAC network can offer to Maryland financial institutions," said Reese Cropper Jr., president and chief executive officer of Taylor Bank in Berlin, Md. Henry Tilman, president and chief executive officer of The bank of Fruitland added, "When you combine the convenience of the cross state deposit option with the MAC network's extensive product offerings, the benefits to the customer are obvious."
The MAC network is the only current major EFT network in Maryland to offer deposit reciprocity with Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The MAC system currently has 1,400 participating financial institutions in 16 states (primarily in the middle Atlantic and Midwest regions) and 26 million cardholders. The MAC network is the leading regional EFT network for switched transactions, with approximately 21 percent of the national switched volume. It is the top EFT network in total transactions, and a leading provider of point-of-sale services, recording 1 billion transactions annually through 13,000 ATMs, and more than 20 million POS transactions annually through 17,000 POS data capture terminals.
MAC is a registered trademark of MONEY ACCESS SERVICE INC., which is a subsidiary of Electronic Payment Services, Inc.
