M-real's new BCTMP mill up-and-running.


M-REAL'S NEW BCTMP BCTMP Bleached Chemi-Thermomechanical Pulp  MILL UP-AND-RUNNING. M-real M-real Corporation is a Finnish paper and pulp company. It was originally established by G.A. Serlachius, and named Metsä-Serla (Forest Serla). The brand Serla is an M-real brand. M-real's slogan is "make it real".  Corp., Espoo, Finland said Finnish President Tarja Halonen Tarja Kaarina Halonen (IPA: ] ) (born December 24, 1943, in Helsinki, Finland) is the eleventh and current President of Finland.  inaugurated the company's new bleached chemithermomechanical pulp (BCTMP) mill in Kaskinen on October 20, 2005. It will produce 300,000 metric tons/yr of the pulp required in M-real's fine paper and paperboard paperboard, material similiar in shape and composition to paper, but generally thicker, stronger, and more rigid. Paper machines, e.g., Fourdrinier machines, are used to make sheets of paperboard.  production. M-real's Joutseno BCTMP mill was the world's first mill based on this technology. Both the Kaskinen and Joutseno mills have been built using proprietary technology that won the Engineering Award granted by The Finnish Association of Graduate Engineers (TEK See TeX. ) and the Finnish Technological Society.

IN OTHER M-REAL NEWS: The company shared second place in the Finnish competition for Environmental and Corporate Responsibility reporting with Fortum, a leading Nordic energy company. In 2005, M-real published its first extensive Corporate Responsibility Report, which develops a uniform entity with the company's Annual Review and the Annual Financial Report.
